We are at a serious crossroad. A fierce struggle for the future is underway. The powerful uprising for Black lives and for an end to police terror has shaken the country, terrifying the powers-that-be. Now the fascist Trump is threatening to take over cities where (according to Trump) Democratic Governors and Mayors are not bringing down enough violence on the people to crush this rebellion.
In Portland Trump and the DOJ have brought in a federal paramilitary force. These pigs, in military camo with no ID, have targeted protesters -- dragging them off the streets into unmarked vans. The people of Portland who have been in the streets for over 60 days straight have not backed down and many more people are joining them.
Now, in Chicago, Trump is using the violence among the people as an excuse to send a “Surge” of 200 feds against the people. Trump used military talk and wartime terminology borrowed from Iraq and Afghanistan in announcing this plan, making it clear that he and those around him see Black people in places like Chicago as the enemy. The Feds will be putting people on lists to be arrested and locked up on Federal charges, violating their basic legal rights -- with more to come.
Facing this crossroad, we call to the youth killing and dying on the streets of Chicago: The time is NOW to raise your sights above the degradation and madness, above the dog eat dog individual struggle to survive and “be somebody” on the terms of this murdering system. As Noche Diaz, a leader of the National Get Organized for an ACTUAL Revolution Tour who spent several years building the movement for revolution in Chicago said:
“ We in the Revolution Club are grieving over lost loved ones, and grieving with our friends and comrades who have also lost family in the recent wave of shootings in Chicago... But we will not let hurt become despair, or let the pain and anger be turned into a weapon against the people. Our comrades [in Chicago], and in the Clubs everywhere, are fighting hard to win people—yes, even and especially those who right now have their guns pointed at each other or have only revenge on their mind—to the emancipating outlook, methods, goals, and morality of this revolution based on the scientific understanding and strategy developed by Bob Avakian. This is something really worth living and fighting for: a revolution that can leave a much better world for ALL humanity, where ALL our children can grow up with the future they truly deserve.”
