It's just three weeks since Roe was overturned and the hell that means for women and girls is heartbreaking and infuriating:- women forced to have children against their will;- hospitals turning away patients having miscarriages;- wombs as surveillance sites; child rape victims forced to travel for abortions & their doctors persecuted and threatened;- birth control, marriage equality and more in danger of being abolished.
Abortion laws are already having profoundly dangerous repercussions for health care, privacy and doctors' ability to provide lifesaving care to their patients.
No "safe haven" is secure as long as the Supreme Court is dominated by Christian fascists, whose agenda of overturning LBGTQ rights and birth control is fueled by this "victory."
If you can't stomach the violence being committed against half of society, if you refuse to adjust or surrender to it, if you're not willing to "wait and see," join us this Saturday to demand: The Federal Government Must Restore Legal Abortion Nationwide!

This is part of the ESDC Pilsen Art Walk. Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights has been invited to display photo enlargements from the Green Wave in Latin America that will be for sale to raise funds for our movement.  Fifty some events were held over the July 4th weekend under that motto. We are angry and outraged and terrified of the future the Christian fascist majority on the supreme court is constructing before our eyes, as they destroy women's civil rights, inadequate environmental protections, and more. |
This court is illegitimate. This decision must not stand. Legal abortion on demand.
Saturday, July 9th, we are back in the streets with this message. NOW is the time to accelerate this movement--before the horror of this defeat numbs, before 10 year old girls traveling across state lines for an abortion becomes just another news story, before it becomes normal for wombs to be surveillance sites.
Congress is still in session, the Federal government has untapped powers to restore abortion access nationwide. WE are the ones who must demand that they use those powers. As we've said, and screamed, for more than six months, waiting until November is too late, it's deadly for hundreds, maybe thousands of women and girls.
What Rise Up 4 Abortion RIghts has accomplished matters. And what we do now is crucial. Please watch

The state has no right to force women to have children against their will. To treat women's wombs as sites of surveillance. To hunt down, put on trial and imprison women who are accused of inducing their own abortions. Forced Motherhood = Female Enslavement. To fall silent now is to acquiesce to a growing pile-up of the shattered lives of women and girls. It is to acquiesce to the growing theocratic assault on contraception, LGBTQ rights, on the history and lives of Black people and much more. We must Rise Up 4 Abortion Rights NOW! We must fill the streets again and again in massive, sustained and growing nonviolent protest. We must make clear to those in power that we will sooner bring the gears of society to a grinding halt through mass nonviolent resistance than to accept the horror of forced motherhood.
