Saturday, January 23 at the Gene Siskel Film Center

Chicago release of the highly-acclaimed new movie
William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe

Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler explore the life of their father, the late radical civil rights lawyer. In the 1960s and 70s he fought for civil rights with Martin Luther King Jr., and represented the famed " Chicago 8" activists who protested the Vietnam War. When the inmates took over Attica prison in 1971, or when the American Indian Movement stood up to the federal government at Wounded Knee, they asked Kunstler to be their lawyer. His daughters give this movie a perspective seldom seen of such a controversial figure. They speak as a younger generation about this important role model for everyone.

Emily and Sarah have generously offered the Saturday 7:45 pm showing to be a benefit for the Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund and Revolution Books Chicago. Tickets for this show are on sale for $20 each, and are available at Revolution Books or from organizers of this benefit. Proceeds will go to PRLF and Revolution Books Chicago. Both Emily Kunstler and Sarah Kunstler will be attending the Saturday evening showing, and will be part of a Q & A session immediately afterwards.
