On November 15, 1900 people packed The Riverside Church in New York City to experience the Dialogue between Cornel West and Bob Avakian-REVOLUTION AND RELIGION: The Fight for Emancipation and the Role of Religion.

It was an historic event. Two perspectives were set forth-contending and overlapping, struggling for higher ground, and coming back to unity on the need to ACT. The video of the entire Dialogue has now been posted!

You can also read the article on revcom.us, "An Historic Dialogoue: Cornel West and Bob Avakian Enlighten and Challenge in Dark Times."

The two speakers cut very deep, and we all need to "go there." You are invited to
Revolution Books on Saturday evening, 6:00 pm for pizza and to CONTINUE THE DIALOGUE. This is a chance to dig into the issues and arguments raised by both speakers, to raise your questions and share your observations.

Breaking News: State of Emergency declared in Ferguson, Prepare to Protest‏

Just received from World Cant Wait Chicago Chapter
The Governor of Missouri has declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard, even before a grand jury decision on the indictment of Darren Wilson, the cop who murdered unarmed Black youth Michael Brown over 100 days ago (CNN story here). Who is preparing for violence?! The real state of emergency in Ferguson, in Chicago, and throughout this country is the wanton murder of Black and Brown people by the police, with impunity, and the military-style suppression of communities taking to the streets to demand justice. Yes, #AllLivesMatter and we will not stop until this slaughter stops. It is completely illegitimate to deploy the National Guard or any other type of repressive police force against protesters!

We urge you to take up the call of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network Chicago to meet at
5 PM at
State St. & Jackson, Chicago

(Jackson stop on Blue and Red lines)
Facebook event page
on the day the grand jury decision is announced if that is a weekday and to gather there as soon as possible if the announcement comes on a Saturday or Sunday. What you do matters, bring signs and whistles and friends! Please share this link widely.

Killer cops walking free or getting a slap on the wrist is unacceptable, in Ferguson, Chicago or anywhere.
We will march, we will say NO MORE! Bring everyone who is outraged.

Revolution Books Received the following from the Chicago Stop Mass Incarceration Network (SMIN)

Dear Friend,
It is time to prepare for, and be ready to act on, the Mike Brown grand jury decision.

Chicago SMIN has called for everyone to go to State & Jacksonon the day the decision is announced. 5 pm if it's a weekday, or on a weekend day get there as soon as you can after the announcement.
Here's the Facebook page for the event
Spread the word!
We chose that spot to assemble because there are always people there even on weekends and it's easy to get to. What you do matters. Think about how to bring the JUSTICE FOR MICHAEL BROWN
message in the most visual and powerful way. Start making your signs and banners and get your whistles ready. Spread the word to everyone and every group. Flood social media.
  • TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE GRAND JURY DECISION
  • KILLER COPS WALKING FREE OR GETTING A SLAP ON THE WRIST IS UNACCEPTABLE!
  • JUSTICE FOR MICHAEL BROWN, ERIC GARNERAND ALL VICTIMS OF POLICE MURDER!
Ferguson Front Line
Ferguson, MO

When the Grand Jury Decision in the Murder of Mike Brown is Announced:
We will march!  We will say NO MORE!
Bring everyone who is outraged.

Whatever the decision-no charges, charges that are a slap on the wrist or the unlikely indictment for murder-people everywhere must pour into the streets to DEMAND JUSTICE FOR MICHAEL BROWN. We cannot accept this murdering cop walking free. It will be another green light to police to wantonly kill our people. We must raise our voices in the streets, loudly saying NO MORE! Even if Wilson is indicted, we need to be in the streets. Remember, George Zimmerman was indicted for the murder of Trayvon Martin, but he walked free after a trial in which the prosecutors forgot how to
prosecute. NOT THIS TIME!
