One Year After Trayvon's Murder

It's On Us: Back Into the Streets on February 26!

February 26, 2013-One year since the murder of Trayvon Martin. One year since a self-styled vigilante, wannabe cop named George Zimmerman saw Trayvon's Black skin and his hoodie and decided he "must be up to no good." One year since Zimmerman gunned Trayvon down. One year since the cops in Sanford, Florida, found Zimmerman standing over Trayvon's dead body and walked him into and out of the police station, letting the killer go free. And still, no justice. (read on)

Take to the Streets, Wear Hoodies
and Show Your Outrage! on Tuesday, 2/26

On Tuesday 2/26, one year after the murder of Trayvon Martin, we must return to the streets, wear hoodies and act in other ways to show that we refuse to accept the bulls-eye that has been placed on the backs of Black youth. Gather your friends, neighbors and co-workers; and take pictures of what you do....

On Tuesday 2/26, we must mark the murder of Trayvon by wearing hoodies, by gathering in appropriate places and demonstrating our defiance and our determination to refuse to accept this mistreatment. Gather coming out of school, gather in your neighborhoods.

We have to act in this way on the 26th. If we don't, the courts could work like the cops did on the night Trayvon was murdered, by letting Zimmerman walk free again. And the authorities will continue to give a green light to racist vigilantes and killer cops to brutalize and murder our youth.

But if we do act in this way, it will show we refuse to accept in silence a declaration of open season on Black youth. It will say NO MORE to authorities who criminalize our youth. It will open the eyes of those who don't experience this mistreatment to what's really going on. And it will give heart to all those who live this injustice and hate it. When we pour into the streets and act in other ways with defiance and determination on February 26, we will be contributing to ending these outrages once and for all.

Announcing the Premiere of a
film of a major Talk by Bob
Avakian in the Fall of 2012:

"Yes, this is a film, but that is not its essence. This is a daring, substantive, scientific summoning to revolution. 6+ hours that can change how you see the world and what you do with the rest of your life. Is this hype? No.
                                                          - From one of the filmmakers
If humanity is going to fight its way out of this horrific nightmare and create a world where human beings can rise to their full potential and truly flourish, it will be because of the work and leadership of Bob Avakian. And it will be because people - beginning with YOU - get into this work, get with this leadership, and fight for others to do the same.
In March, a new film of a major speech given by Bob Avakian in the fall of 2012 will premiere. This film can make a world of difference in a world that needs nothing more than to be radically different. Whether that happens depends on us.

Raymond Lotta on Obama's Assault on Rights...
Resisting with High Standards...
and the Betrayals That Can Not Be Tolerated
Dear Friends,
I am inviting you to view and take part in a webcast next Sunday, February 10, at 4:00 pm (EST). I will be speaking on the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the Obama administration's ratcheting up of repression and the need to keep to high standards and principles in waging this struggle.

The NDAA is a law spearheaded by the Obama administration. It gives the government the authority to indefinitely detain, without charge or trial, a broad and vague category of people that have nothing to do with 911 or terrorism in general. The NDAA is a very dangerous development that must be aggressively fought. (read more)
