On May 1st, 2011...  May 1st is the holiday of
the international proletariat, a day to boldly put forward our aims of revolution and communism.
It is time to both celebrate and to step back, to
take stock and to lift our sights even further.
A time of struggle and of celebration.

"If you can conceive of a world without America-without everything America stands for and everything it does in the world-then you've already taken great strides and begun to get at least a glimpse of a whole new world. If you can envision a world without any imperialism, exploitation, oppression-and the whole philosophy that rationalizes it-a world without division into classes or even different nations, and all the narrow-minded, selfish, outmoded ideas that uphold this; if you can envision all this, then you have the basis for proletarian internationalism. And once you have raised your sights to all this, how could you not feel compelled to take an active part in the world historic struggle to realize it; why would you want to lover your sights to anything less?

BAsics Book Cover
"This system and those who rule over it are not capable of carrying out economic development to meet the needs of the people now, while balancing that with the needs of future generations and requirements of safeguarding the environment. They care nothing for the rich diversity of the earth and its species, for the treasures this contains, except when and where they can turn this into profit for themselves.... These people are not fit to be the caretakers of the earth."

Sea In Flames - Gulf
Special on the Environment
A SEA IN FLAMES
by Carl Safina
Award–winning oceanographer and conservationist Carl Safina offers an impassioned, on the ground chronicle of the 2010 Gulf oil blowout that surpassed Exxon-Valdez to rank as the worst in history. He breaks down the political and corporate causes and the environmental effects of the spill: the bedding together of government and Big Oil that produced the perfect storm of deregulation and drilling incentive.

State of EMERGENCY!
The Plunder of Our Planet, The Environmental Catastrophe & The Real Revolutionary Solution

(Special Issue on the Environment)

Under socialism, the rules of commodity production—of profit first, of expand or die—no longer set the terms and framework for what is possible and desirable to produce. This will be an incredibly liberating step. For the first time, it becomes possible to organize and coordinate production in a planned and rational way.(read on)
Eaarth McKibbon

eaarth
by Bill McKibben

McKibben is probably one of the very few to steer us into the the direction of thinking that we can't restore the old Planet Earth. Thinking that driving hybrid cars and taking shorter showers will restore the ice caps in the Arctic is unrealistic. We need a major overhaul of our infrastructure and our logic to even adapt on this New Earth we created. It's no longer enough to admit that global warming is real and to want to adjust a few things in our daily lives - we must realize that our daily lives are gone in the way we've known them.

Caldicott on Nuclear Power
NUCLEAR POWER IS NOT THE ANSWER
by HELEN CALDICOTT
Never one to mince words, renowned physician and activist Caldicott presents exhaustive evidence to refute the now-resurgent claim that nuclear power is the solution to global warming. Eschewing hyperbole and speculation, Caldicott diligently presents the facts about the grave problems attendant on nuclear power. ...So numerous and so severe are the problems Caldicott precisely records and clearly interprets that, as it stands today, nuclear power would appear to be a costly, dangerous, even ludicrous technology.

Black Tide: The Devastating Impact of the Gulf Oil Spill

by Antonia Juhasz
Black Tide is the only book to tell this story through the perspective of people on all sides of the catastrophe, from those who lost their lives, loved ones, and livelihoods to those who made the policies that set the devastating event in motion, those who cut the corners that put corporate profits over people and the environment, and those who have committed their lives to ensuring that such an event is never repeated. Dramatic and compelling, Black Tide exposes the human failings and human cost of the largest oil disaster in American history and how it could easily happen again.

CONSTITUTION For The New Socialist Republic In North America
(Draft Proposal)

From the Revolutionary Communist Party, USA
In the development of the socialist economy, and in the overall functioning of the government, within the New Socialist Republic in North America and in its international relations, not only must the fundamental orientation and principles of proletarian internationalism be consistently adhered to and applied, but his has special and urgent relevance with regard to the environment.
