Revolution Books received this announcement:

NO NEW YEAR UNDER THIS OLD SYSTEM!
WE CAN'T BREATHE!

NEW YEAR'S EVE   WED. DEC. 31    10 pm CST
Chicago Tribune Tower (Plaza)
435 N. Michigan Ave, just north of bridge on Michigan

Bring everyone you know!  Bring your whistles!  All actions should be nonviolent and creative. Bring banners and signs you can carry under your coat. Please be on time, bitter cold weather predicted, dress warmly!

Call from Carl Dix:
On New Year's Eve, as the clock winds down on 2014, the powers that be will hope to be ringing in a new year that carries forward business as usual. That must not be allowed to go down because business as usual in Amerikkka includes wanton police murder of Black people. The refusal of grand juries in Ferguson and Staten Island to indict the cops who murdered Michael Brown and Eric Garner made this clear. So the powerful, beautiful and necessary outpourings that have disrupted this society's normal routine must continue and escalate on New Years Eve and into the New Year.

We should live in a society where those who are entrusted with public safety would sooner risk their own lives than kill or injure an innocent person. But in this society, cops who brutalize and murder are given the benefit of the doubt and are almost never punished in any way for their crimes. This is illegitimate and unacceptable. It must be STOPPED, and it's up to us to stop it! On New Year's Eve, we must act in many different ways to do just that.

If you think that police murder must STOP, be out in the streets with that message out on New Years Eve. Say in a loud, clear voice - NO NEW YEAR UNDER THIS OLD SYSTEM!  And - WE CAN'T BREATHE! Bring your whistles and blow them loudly. Bring your signs and banners.

And if you think that torture, that violence against women and attacks on women's rights, that attacks on immigrants and the pillaging of the environment of the planet, that US wars for empire and attacks on people for who they love and how they love and more must be stopped; join us in the streets on New Year's Eve. Bring your signs and banners too. Figure out imaginative ways to say NO MORE to all these horrors.
The Stop Mass Incarceration Network is a project of the Alliance for Global Justice, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The Stop Mass Incarceration Network is building a movement to stop the injustice of mass incarceration and police brutality; and the racially biased policies and practices of the police, the courts and the U.S. legal system; and to support the rights of prisoners and the formerly incarcerated. We call on all to join us.

HOW TO STOP A PIPELINE: THE UNIST'OT'EN CAMP

Lawyer, writer, and grass roots activist Will Falk went to the Unist'ot'en Camp earlier this year to support the pipeline blockade on the territory of the Unist'ot'en Clan of the Wet'suwet'en people. Join us next Thursday evening, Dec. 11, to watch a short video, hear about his experiences there, and join a lively discussion of this important struggle.

How To Stop An Oil And Gas Pipeline: The Unist'ot'en Camp Resistance
The Unist'ot'en Camp sits directly on the paths of 18 proposed fossil fuel pipelines that would carry fracked oil and fracked natural gas from the Fort
McMurray tar sands to the BC coast, where it would be shipped to burn in markets worldwide. These pipelines are one part of tar sands "development," the largest, most destructive project on earth.

Falk will discuss the importance of supporting First Nations' sovereignty, the strategic value of beating the pipelines in so-called British Columbia, and the effectiveness of direct action tactics employed there in stopping fossil fuels.

STOP MASS INCARCERATION MEETING
Sunday, 3 pm, December 7
Daystar Center/Overflow Coffee Bar
1550 S State (NW corner of 16th and State)
The actions of the people in the last 2 weeks have achieved a great deal.  These actions have forced everyone in this country to confront the reality of this epidemic of police brutality and murder, of mass incarceration, of the criminalization of entire peoples.

Now is not the time to retreat or quiet down. Now is not the time to fall for the honeyed words and empty promises of the oppressors, nor to be misled by their slanders. Now is the time to intensify and to spread this movement and the righteous actions taken so far.

Many more people must be involved-there are plenty of people who have not come out in struggle yet, who must and should and can be won to come out. Organizing through Twitter and Facebook has its definite strengths, but people also need to get together in person and decide how to take this higher.

All are welcome -- all needed to build this righteous movement.

Revolution Books was asked to share this announcement from Stop Mass Incarceration Network
Black Lives Matter Friday protest at the Water Tower in Chicago
Support Ferguson Protester
 Grant Newburger
 Come to Court
 Wed.  Dec 3,  9 am
 Branch 42, Court House
at Belmont & Western Ave (near police station)

FERGUSON COP WHO KILLED MIKE BROWN WALKS FREE WITH NO CHARGES, WHILE GRANT NEWBURGER IS CHARGED WITH A FELONY FOR PROTESTING THIS OUTRAGEOUS DECISION.

Through this outrageous charge, the police and state behind them are trying to send a message that people should not resist police brutality and murder. Come to this hearing to have Grant's back and be part of clearly rejecting this message.

Grant Newburger is a revolutionary and has been a front-line fighter against police murder and brutality for over 20 years.  He was arrested with 2 other people during  last Wednesday's march in the Chicago Loop protesting the Ferguson grand jury decision. He and two other protesters had just stepped out into the intersection at State and Jackson with a large banner "Justice for Mike Brown" when a bike cop ran into the front of him and two cops knocked Grant down to the ground from behind and injured him.

Grant  was charged with a serious felony aggravated battery causing great bodily harm to a police officer and yet the officer's arrest report and the prosecuter at the bond hearing clearly stated that the  police officer had no injuries whatsoever. Impossible! There needs to be a political fight to demand that this bogus charge, and all the charges against the Ferguson protesters in Chicago and around the country, be dropped. The police must not be allowed to get away with this injustice.

If you believe in justice and oppose police terror, come to court Wednesday. Spread the word. Contribute funds for his defense.  Volunteers are needed to make an on-line petition to drop the charges and to contribute in other ways to stop this attack.

DROP ALL THE CHARGES!

JUSTICE FOR MIKE BROWN and ALL VICTIMS of POLICE MURDER!
