June 24, 7 pm
Join us for a discussion of
"Outrage in Charleston - This IS America" by Carl Dix
"The blood of the nine people murdered in Charleston is on the hands of the rulers of this country. Whether this guy acted alone or not, he was acting within a climate that has been deliberately whipped up. White supremacy has been ingrained in the fabric of America from its very beginning. This country was founded on theft of land from and genocide inflicted on the native inhabitants and the dragging of millions of Africans to these shores in slave chains. And white supremacy remains at the heart of this society right down to today....

"The crocodile tears being shed by those who preside over the brutality and murder this system inflicts on people are worse than useless. It will take revolution, nothing less, to uproot white supremacy and end the oppression of Black people and all the other horrors this system inflicts on humanity. If you want to see these horrors stopped, there is a movement you can get with, a movement for revolution that the Revolutionary Communist Party is building. To get information and to join in dealing with the questions and obstacles this revolution faces, go to the website: www.revcom.us."
Read the full statement here.

Join us this Wednesday evening to discuss what is required of us all now. Can there be healing and forgiveness if the deep wounds of white supremacy are not exposed? Or do we need more determined resistance against all the attacks aimed at Black and Brown people in this country as part of gathering strength for the day that an actual revolution is possible?

June 17, 7 pm: Book Signing and Author Presentation
Rory Fanning, Afghan war vet discusses his book

Worth Fighting For:
An Army Ranger's Journey Out of the Military and Across America

"[Fanning] shows us the imperial and harmful objective of U.S. foreign policy. He shows us the courage to walk away from it, and he shows us a path to a saner society."

"Rory Fanning's odyssey is more than a walk across America. It is a gripping story of one young man's intellectual journey from eager soldier to skeptical radical, a look at not only the physical immenseness of the country, its small towns, and highways, but into the enormity of its  past, the hidden sins and unredeemed failings of the United States."
-- Neil Steinberg, Chicago Sun-Times

Bob Avakian, "Not Fit Caretakers of the Earth"
"This system and those who rule over it are not capable of carrying out economic development to meet the needs of the people now, while balancing that with the needs of future generations and requirements of safeguarding the environment. They care nothing for the rich diversity of the earth and its species, for the treasures this contains, except when and where they can turn this into profit for themselves... These people are not fit to be the caretakers of the earth." ( BAsics 1:29)

This Revolution special issue focuses on the environmental
emergency that now faces humanity and Earth's ecosystems.
In this issue we show:
-the dimensions of the emergency...
-the source of its causes in the capitalist system, and the impossibility of that system solving this crisis...
-a way out and way forward for humanity--a revolutionary society in which we could actually live as custodians of nature, rather than as its plunderers.

June 10, 7pm:   Dr. Ali Nizamudden, author of The Patenting of Life, Limiting Liberty, and the Corporate Pursuit of Seeds
Dr. Nizamudden's book explores the disastrous consequences of the corporate dominance of world seed supplies and GMO seeds. The advent of genetically modified seeds and strict patent protection accorded to them enable companies to own the seed even after the farmer has bought, planted, and harvested the seed.
