Revolution Books Supports StopPatriarchy.org Call for Protest
SUNDAY JANUARY 17, 1 PM
Federal Courthouse, 219 S. Dearborn, Chicago

Join the "March Against Female Enslavement" contingent taking part in the counter-protest to the #MarchFor Lies (the so-called "March for Life")--anti-abortion fanatics who are busing their followers into the Loop this Sunday, January 17. We are joining the powerful outpouring called by FURIE (Feminist Uprising to Resist Inequality & Exploitation) against these forces who inspire the murder of abortion providers and who have legal and political support from the highest reaches of this system.

Be part of the contingent--spread the news to your friends; call RB (773-489-0930) with your ideas; plan to come to the bookstore Sunday, January 17, 11am, to prepare, to gather materials and go to the protest as a group. Check out this article from last summer, where women and men wore BLOODY PANTS to dramatize the women who have lost their lives because of being denied the right to abortion.

Think about the fact that Anna Yocca was just jailed in Tennessee for 'attempted murder' because she tried to self-abort her fetus with a COAT HANGER! How can you turn away? This is one more reason you must act NOW to defend the reproductive rights--the humanity--of half of the people on the planet!

StopPatriarchy.org has called demonstrations in Washington DC on January 22 and San Francisco on January 23: Stand Up for Women's Lives for the Anniversary of Roe v Wade. Go to http://www.stoppatriarchy.org to go and/or support this, financially and otherwise.

My Life, My Body, a collection of essays by Marge Piercy. In the title essay, "My Life, My Body," poet and novelist Marge Piercy vividly recounts the perils (personal and public) of a woman's life before Roe v Wade. The book includes other essays, poems, memoirs, reviews, and rants. An early anti-war activist in the 1960s, Piercy expanded her vision to feminism, then literature, becoming a best-selling novelist without abandoning the radical politics that set her on her path. Join us to discuss the title essay of this volume; get your copy for $12 at Revolution Books.
