Why This Matters
“Good Trouble,” coined by the late civil rights leader John Lewis, means the courage and sacrifice of ordinary people in the face of injustice.
Refuse Fascism is joining many organizations for a national day of non-violent action to oppose the Trump regime’s escalating attacks on people’s rights and lives.
This is not a day of quiet reflection. It is a day of collective action, just as John Lewis modeled.

Fascism Is Advancing Fast
This summer alone:
-
Trump ordered the illegal bombing of Iran.
-
The Supreme Court greenlighted his fascist edicts.
-
Congress passed a budget slashing the social safety net while funding networks of concentration camps for immigrants.
Every decent person must act before it’s too late.
Waiting for 2026 or 2028 is surrender.
Our good trouble must be unrelenting—and it must demand: Trump Must Go Now.
Overcoming Fear, Acting with Courage
“Great horrors are already unfolding—and there are things far bigger than our individual safety. Everybody likes to talk about the good trouble John Lewis got in, but that never would have happened if they were just looking out for their personal safety. They walked into the teeth of armed and violent Klansmen. People sacrificed. They stood up. And it was worth it.”
