Pigs Shoot Jacob Blake IN THE BACK
August 25, 2020 | revcom.us
It’s happened AGAIN. This time in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a city of 100,000 people. Sunday night, August 23, the pigs shot Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old Black man, multiple times in the back.
Neighbors said Blake had stopped at a friend’s apartment, carrying gifts for the friend’s 8-year-old son. Three of Blake’s six children, aged 8, 6, and 3. were in the back seat of Blake’s car. Then the fucking pigs arrived.

Within hours, video of the shooting spread across social media—and protest in Kenosha started that night, into the early hours of Monday. Large crowds stayed in the streets, confronting the cops, and there were reports of rocks, bricks, and at least one Molotov cocktail being thrown. Dump trucks and other vehicles were set on fire, and store windows were smashed. The cops used tear gas to try and disperse the protest. On Monday, a press conference by Kenosha Mayor John Antarmian that was originally supposed to be in a park was moved inside the city’s public safety building, which houses the cops and sheriffs. Hundreds of protesters tried to get in the building and snapped the hinges off the door. Cops in riot gear pepper sprayed the crowd. A curfew was declared for Monday night. The Wisconsin governor called in the National Guard to back up the local pigs.

There were protests against the shooting of Jacob Blake in other cities around the country on Monday, including in New York City, Portland, and Milwaukee. NBA star LeBron James called for justice in a Twitter post that linked to the video of the shooting: “And y’all wonder why we say what we say about the Police!! Someone please tell me WTF is this???!!! Exactly another black man being targeted. This sh*t is so wrong and so sad!! Feel so sorry for him, his family and OUR PEOPLE!! We want JUSTICE.”
